Pre-Thanksgiving Feast

I'm so proud to be part of an awesome family. We had a
Pre-Thanksgiving meal that was over the top. Michael's
brother Keith and wife Jodi hosted lots of family tonight.
We had homemade jalapeno jelly made my their son
and his wife, Kyle and Jessica. Raw oysters that got
shucked by all the guys. The nieces, Alycia and Kari
assembled kabob's that were awesome. We had
greens, beans, and cornbread cooked over a fire in
there fantastic outdoor room/kitchen. We had
red neck potatoes, layered salad,
and Drew's delicious pecan and banana bread pudding
with Amaretto sauce. We also had roasted oysters
on the grill. We give thanks for all we have and have 2
more meals tomorrow.... One with my family and
another at Michael's mom's. I'll keep you updated on
our copious amounts of food... I have made a layered
salad for my family tomorrow (recipe to follow), and
I am bringing dirty rice and New Orleans Style
Squash (my speciality) to Michael's mama's.

Who Dat

We had a great party on Sunday for our beloved New
Orleans Saints. We hosted 7 family members for the game.
Great food and fellowship. My cousin Claire makes the
great Crawfish Dip that I made today. The recipe follows...
Crawfish Dip
2 pounds of crawfish tails
1 stick of butter
1 medium onion
1 green bell pepper
3 celery sticks
1 can of mushroom soup
3/4 cup of flour
Chop the vegetables - Melt the butter and saute the
vegetables - Add flour and mix until lumps are gone.
Stir in Cream of Mushroom Soup - Add crawfish
tails - Salt and Pepper to taste. Add Cayenne pepper
if desired. Serve with crackers.

Great snacks and fun.... The man below who is my
beloved husband of almost 29 years deserves the Saints
to have a great season.. we and especially him have been
the MOST faithful of fans.We love you SAINTS!

Thank You God For Autumn

I have been reflecting on the following quote by WT
Purkiser for about a year..... "It is not what we say about
our blessings but how we use them, is the true measure
of our Thanksgiving." How AM I using my blessings?

Indian Summer

Saturday was spent at Grand Bayou Resort in Coushatta,
Louisiana. It was the perfect autumn day - the autumnal
colors were beautiful. I thought I would share some
photo's from our Saturday walk. Michael and I reveled
in the mild weather - another Indian Summer.
